OUR LOGO MAY BE RED, At AB First Response we want to help make your work environment safe for staff and customers, and in the process of doing so we are fully committed to enhancing the wider community with our ever increasing focus on Corporate Social Responsibility. We are not only enthusiastic about health and safety issues, we work hard to preserve our natural environment, and make a positive impact on communities, both local and as far a field as Europe – you’ll have to read on to find out all about our positive impact in France. At AB First Response it’s about OUR PEOPLE We have established a regular student work placement programme, which is now in its fourth year, where students become an integral part of the company and make a significant contribution to all aspects of our health and safety training and consultancy services. Already we have successfully had 4 students complete our placement programme, all from France, with a focus on developing their business skills, and assisting in their English language studies. We want our student placements to get the most from their time with us, so we carefully match their skills and professional ambitions with the most suitable roles within the company. The programme has been a resounding success, and we will be welcoming student number 5 to the programme in November 2008. At AB First Response it’s about OUR ENVIRONMENT We are always looking for new ways to minimise our business impact on the natural environment, and have put a number of green business practices in place. As much of our business waste as possible is recycled, ensuring it does not end up as landfill, and all shredded documents are used for composting. We also use recycled office stationary wherever possible, and if you get a letter from us, the envelope will have been produced from recycled materials. When it comes to energy use, we focus on reducing the amount of energy wasted and on being more efficient in the way we use energy. At the moment all our business lighting comes from low energy consumption light bulbs. These steps towards an eco – friendly business approach represent our commitment to a green business approach, and there are lots more developments planned for the remainder of 2008, as we will be working towards the Green Dragon Award for environmental good practice, and are looking to securing South East Wales Wildlife membership. At AB First Response it’s about OUR COMMUNITY We want to make a positive impact in our local community, and have taken part in a number community enhancing local events within a professional capacity, and a number of charity fundraising activities. We have helped a number of local events meet their legislative health and safety requirements. We will again be supporting the local Cowbridge Food Festival, providing on site safety through a dedicated safety officer, and the provision of fire fighting equipment, namely fire extinguishers. Our continued contribution to community events both with consultation and staff ensures that these events can in the first instance be arranged and carried out, along with providing local communities with fun and exciting events.
